Finished Heart Project & Rachel's New Creations

I finished Teresa McFayden's ezine heart project...that was a fun project.

Christopher's favorite dinner is bow tie pasta with marinara sauce...so guess what Rachel made with felt...

She also made this adborable bear and minature pumkin pie (inside a beer cap).

My Remains of the Day Journal (by Mary Ann Moss) is just about done...I'm working on binding the pages tonight - while watching the grammy's. Will post finished project soon.

Maryl's Bday Celebration

Today is Maryl's birthday and we celebrated by getting together at Lana's house for lunch and some crafting. Lana's house looked great, the food was delicious and we had a great time.

It was day of chatting, eating, crafting and laughing. Happy Birthday Maryl!

Hearts & More Hearts

I recently signed up for Teresa McFayden ezine for paperromance - like I don't have enough projects to work on. I know, my quilt is still sitting there. My embroidery cloth is still not full. I'm knitting every night. My Remains of the day journal is still in progress (althougth - I'm trying to work on some of it everynight) - but I just can't help myself from finding new projects to try.
I did finish the cover of my Remains of the Day journal - added a rose and stitched on the tie closure.

Also started collecting paper for the insides.

So, for Teresa ezine, she publishes a new project every Mon, Wed and Fri. This latest one was published on Monday and I just loved it and couldn't wait to make it. Amy Powers was the guest artist...and she gave instructions for this cute heart project. I just have to frame it inside the back side of a canvas - (according to her instructions). It's only a 4"x4" square - so the hearts are pretty tiny.

Latest Creations

Remains of the Day Journal Cover project...I worked on my cover for the Remains of the Day project - so much fun quilting pieces together. I'm still not finished with the cover -but I was able to experiment with the embroidery stitches on my new sewing machine. Best of all - I tried free-motion quilting...that's really fun...it's where you just move the fabric around loosely.

Look at Rachel's sample of free motion quilting...love the rabbit - too cute!

Put up some new small displays in the house - for the little paper art. I mounted a wire inbox tray on the wall...pieces made by me, Rachel, CGS and other pieces made from classes by Lisa Super and Ingrid...enjoy them all.

I picked up this wire display from Misto Lino today...works great for displaying more pieces made by me and some from CGS.

Rachel made her first tote tonight - amazing, she figured out how to do a gusset corner all on her own.
Rainy days are great for artful play!

Rachel's Egyptian Necklace School Project

This week Rachel had to create an Egyptian project - she choose to make this beaded necklace. I think this turned out really cool - but she used a single strand of thread...so we're hoping it doesn't break before it gets to school. She's wearing her egyptian outfit too.

This weekned at East Bay Depot for Creative Reuse - they had a vintage sale...I got there 15 min. before they opened and while waiting in line - chatted with the girls from Addison Papers -they're so sweet and have a great store on Telegraph. Here are my treasures...

Rachel was crafting again tonight - here's what she made so far - a carton of milk...she's working on another piece right now (a s'more to have with her milk).

Tonight, I signed up for an on-line class by Mary Ann - wonderful journal - http://dispatchfromla.typepad.com/dispatch_from_la/rotdoci.html, can't wait to get started. In fact, I already collected 20 security envelopes to be used - can't imagine how yet, but it was on the supply list. Will have to share as I progress.
