This weekend, my sisters and I attended a two day Pop-Up Card workshop from the famous Paul Johnson from England. Here's a link to Paul's work, http://bookart.co.uk/ - he's published over 15 books and taught classes all over the world. Below is a picture of the book I made in this workshop.
It was such a fun weekend being with my sisters and friends while creating all weekend.
Paul is an amazing teacher, explaining each step so clearly.
Nan (not pictured here) also helped teach and she provided such a depth of experience to the entire weekend.
Jenning, our family friend, hosted the workshop in her beautiful club house in Marin.
We used magazines and some of our own art work as the source.
I love how different each sheet came out!
And each one tells so much about the person.
We had lots of different themes,
I can't wait to try these in some of my journals!
Below are more pictures from the book I made in class.
I used lots of my doll images,
and copies of some of my journal pages.
I like the bright colors mixed with black and white images.
The book measure 5"x 5"x 1",
I love all the folded pages and pockets we learned.
This page was a fold out page.
I tried to have something open or flip on each page.

I loved how we each had our own table to spread out and work.
Part of the process included each of us making a couple collage pages to use in our book.We used magazines and some of our own art work as the source.

Below is a picture of our instructor, Paul, and this amazing pop-up Noah's Arc he made.
Paul taught us some amazing pop-up card designs. Below are pictures of some of the samples I made.
We used plain paper for our samples, but can you imagine using some mixed media paper?I can't wait to try these in some of my journals!
