Play Date With Dannetta

Today, Dannetta and I played with making some Paige dolls. Dannetta is a sweet fan of my work and found me through some of my articles in Somerset.
Dannetta wants to make Paige dolls/notebooks for cancer patients - what a thoughtful and kind idea! I showed her some of my work and techniques and hopefully she'll be able to produce some dolls to brighten someone's day.
If we can get this off the ground and find some funding to help pay for some of the production costs, I will definitely spread the word on my blog...stay tuned.

Great idea Dannetta!

Have a great week everyone!

My New Clay Doll

I recently found an on-line class taught by Nancye Williams called Primitive Vintage Lady or Creating Vintage Dolls. Below is the picture of the doll I made.
The head and hands were made from polymer clay. The body, legs and arms were stuffed with batting.
Nancye has very detailed steps and lots of pictures to show you the entire process. It's hard to picture the final outcome when looking at the beginning stages of just the head.
But it all comes together at the end and I was really happy with the outcome.
Thanks Nancye for a wonderful class, I really enjoyed it! I look forward to making more dolls.

Mini Art Journal Filled with Whimsical Dolls

In the past couple weeks, I've been working on filling up one of my mini art journals with new whimsical dolls.
This book measures about 1 1/2" x 2" and has 16 pages.
Below are a couple pictures of all the inside pages...
It was a bit challenging making such itsy bitsy cuts and gluing them down, but it was worth the effort.
Now, I'm afraid I can't throw away the tiniest scrap paper in case I need it to make one of my mini dolls. :-)

Have a great week!
