Miss You Chris!

This weekend we took our son to college, UC Davis. Although it's not that far from home, he is still living away from home and I miss him so much already! Here's a picture of him inside his dorm.
The move in-day was Saturday, the day it was pouring rain.
Below is a picture of the outside of his dorm.
He shares his room with two others...a triple room.
Here's Chris with his two other roommates - they're both from China. One is majoring in Physics and the other Civil Engineering...that's a lot of brain power in that room.
I'm so proud of Chris and just can't believe he's in college already. He's going to be majoring in Computer Science, just like his mom ;-). Things will definitely be different around the house without him...it's definitely a new chapter in our lives. Wish you the best Chris!

More Journal Pages...

This week I created more journal pages in my Dylusions 8"x5" journal...I'm loving it! Hope it inspires you to try it too.
The girls are Teesha Moore stamps
The sitting girl is an image from "The Lady's Closet" digital collage sheets.
I'll have to add a paper doll or something to this one still.
Inspired by Teesha Moore
Below is a picture of some of the supplies (stamps and stencils) I used on the pages above.
I think a class would be fun...I'd be willing to teach if there's interest. It might not be until Oct/Nov though...but if you think you might want a Artful Play Journal day, email me.

Hope you had a great weekend!

Starting New Journal

I started a new journal using Dyan Reeavely's Dylusion's 5" x 8" journal - I love this small size and all her Dylusions sprays too. I bought these supplies at Scrapbook Territory, in Berkeley.
It's been so much fun creating pages in my journal...definitely my new go to project. I've been cutting out images in magazines, buying stencils and journaling pens. Here are the pages I've made so far. I'm not going to say they're completed cause I keep going back to the earlier pages and adding more to them...I guess you could say it's my living journal - it's fun to continuously work on it!
I tried to picture the stencil/supplies I used to create each of the pages.
It's a lot of doodling...
and painting...
and cutting & pasting.
I really like the black background on the pages below.
The pages below are inspired by Pam Garrison.
The pages below are inspired by Teesha Moore (I can't wait to see her at Art Is You, Petaluma in Sept.)
I can't wait to make more pages. I hope it inspires you to start one too!

Altered Basic Grey Greeting Card Kit

I've been cleaning up my craft supplies and came across a Basic Grey Greeting Card kit that I must have purchased a long time ago. I decided to open it up and create my own style of Basic Grey greeting cards. These are the cards I made with the kit...
Below is a picture of what the kit looks like when purchased...
The kits gives you step by step instructions and supplies to make the cards pictured on the cover. The kit makes 8 different cards and includes envelopes. I used the supplies from the kit and added some of my own images and supplies. Here's a close up shot of the cards I made with the kit...

This kit certainly makes it easy to put together these cards, with coordinating papers and embellishments - it's a quick fun project. It's always nice to have cards handy and it's easy to add a"Happy Birthday" or "Thank You" tag to the front and you're good to go!

I also picked up a Dylusions creative journal this weekend and have already worked on several pages.
It's been so much fun, I can't wait to share with you what I created. ;-)

Hope you had a great weekend!
