Alameda Point Flea Market

Today I went to the Alameda Point Flea Market with my sister Maryl and her husband Rocky.
We got an early start...we were there by 7:15am...the sun was just coming up. The line wasn't too long.
It was fun going through piles of loose jewelry looking for those special pieces to re-purpose.
Below is a picture of a box of glass slides...only $1 each, which I couldn't pass up. I'm not sure what I'll make with the slides...but I'm sure I'll come up with something.
Next is a picture of my sister and her husband searching through a pile of name patches. My brother-in-law even found his name, "Rocky" on one of those patches!
Below is a cool booth that sold some hand made aprons and purses.
Here's a picture of the owners of the booth.
One of them is modeling an apron. I had to buy one too, which you'll see at the end of this post.
I found some cool metal pieces from this pile of "junk". After taking the class from Leighanna Light, I'm in search of small metal pieces.
The picture below shows a painting in progress. Someone set up an easel in an empty stall and was painting the view in front of them.
Below are pictures of the items that I came home with...
Love that black velvet purse with the aqua satin lining.
I love this picture frame with the scissors - so simple, I know...but it was just calling my name.
I'm collecting yard sticks after I saw the post from Paula at One Lucky Day
This is the apron I bought at the booth I showed above...I might turn this into a purse.
I'm collecting black bound books (got that idea from Paula, too)
It was such a fun outing today. Alameda Pt. flea market is the first Sunday of the month - you have to check it out if you're in the area - especially if you like to hunt for vintage finds!

  2. You found some great goodies to get inspiration from. Love the black purse with the aqua lining and the apron is fabulous! I think your idea of making it into a purse would be stunning. I may have to go to the next Flea Market.
