More Paige Dolls

I've been busy painting more Paige dolls on my latest background pages. Below are photos of my new pieces.

Playing with Paints

Today, I decided to play with paints and create some background pages for future use. I took one of the pages and created this piece below....

I combined styles from Mindy Lacefield, Roben Marie Smith and Christina Romeo. I love all the colors. This will make a cute card, tag or journal cover.
Here's some photos of my day creating...

 I started with white Canson mixed media paper and glued on random pieces of text paper.

Then I just added lots of color with a pallet knife.

The final touches were adding white spats and my tissue flowers. It's comforting to have a stash of background papers ready for future projects.

Painting Black Flowers & Loops

I just finished a quick project painting flowers & loops on tissue paper. I use these painted black flowers and loops often in my art journals and cards.

I use Japanese Sumi drawing ink and a Japanese calligraphy paint brush to paint the flowers.

It did take awhile to cut out the flowers individually, but it'll be so handy to have them ready to use going forward.

Below are a couple of samples of how I use my painted flowers & loops.

The best things I like about painted them on tissue paper is that it gives me the option to preview how it will look before I glue them down vs actually painting the drawings directly on my originals and I also love the transparency of the tissue over my drawings.
