Button Necklaces

This weekend, I was playing around with resin and some vintage buttons, so without further ado, here's the final result:

Don't you just love the case, it was a bday gift from my sister, Frances. I made these cluster necklaces from buttons. I bought a bag of these silver shank buttons from craft depot. They've been hanging around for awhile since I wasn't sure what to do with them. My daughter actually got into making resin charms before me, so I decided to try it out and fill buttons with some paper collage and resin.
Here's how they came out.
I then decided to cluster these resin buttons with other buttons and make it the center piece for a necklace.
Here's what my daughter has been making with the resin. She takes stickers and clip art and puts them into resin molds. She layers some glitter or sprinkles on the back and then once set, she covers them with clear gloss. She makes them into necklaces and rings...someday to sell on Etsy.

  4. The button necklaces are so unique looking. The button shanks add a nice touch with the other vintage buttons. Very cool.
